*DO NOT BECOME JEALOUS OF OTHER PEOPLE'S GIFT*
Today's Gospel is about the servants who were given talents according to their abilities, to one person five, to another two, and to the last person one.
The last person was angry he was given only one talent, and he went to hide it, claiming the talent was too small.
My dear, here is the personality of this person
1. He is lazy, only a lazy person gives excuses about tools.
2. He has a jealous spirit by envying the others who were given more talents than him
3. Even if given five talents, he will complain that the master wants him to overlabour more than the others, and he will not even use it
4. He is selfish
5. He is wicked and heartless
6. He does not love his master or any other person.
7. Because he is lazy, as a result, he lacks initiative, no common sense, etc.
8. He has an inferiority complex
9. He lacks contentment.
Some of us Christians are like this last servant given one talent to trade with.
My dear, try to discover your God-given talent, use it to win souls for God, to better the lives of others, and do not become jealous of those who are multi-talented.
Let me sight an instance; the moment you discover that your God-given talent is hospitality/welfare, and people feel comfortable around you anytime you attend to them, but because your talent is not the type that makes you command the crowd, you begin to feel uncomfortable with the hospitality/welfare, and starts to envy the person with the gift of eloquence.
Then you abandon your gift and start to long for the gift of eloquence, and you feel God is not just not to have given you an eloquence speech, because that is what you want. See, let me tell you, if you are in this category, you are the third servant who was given one talent but went to bury it.
So, do not bury your talent, use it to help others with love.
Do not become jealous of the talent you do not have.
God who gave us our talents individually, does it according to our abilities which He (God) knows that if we harness it very well, we will make heaven and save other people's souls too.
Finally, I joined my voice with St. Paul in today's first reading where he encouraged the Thessalonians and all of us that, we should intensify in the love of God and our neighbours, and discharge our duty selflessly. This is what God expects from us.
Remember that the servants who were given five and two talents respectively traded with it, made more gain, and the master praised them and rewarded them.
So, no single effort we make as a Christian that will not be rewarded by God.
Keep using your gift/talents to win souls for God, you will not regret it. Trust me.
*Peace ✌️ be with you*
