TOPIC FOR REFLECTION


 *FR. RICCARDO GERMANETTO CRS. HAS PLAYED HIS PART.* 


My dear brethren, kindly permit me to dedicate today's reflection to my formator whom the Lord called to himself yesterday, 13th November 2023.


As fate would have it, today's first reading is for the dead, while in the Gospel, Jesus stated clearly that at last, as an unworthy servant, we have only done what was our duty. 


The souls of the righteous are certainly in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the foolish, they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be an affliction, and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of men they were punished, their hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them.


 *BRIEF MISSIONARY JOURNEY OF FR. RICCARDO IN NIGERIA* 


Fr. Riccsrdo came to Nigeria for the first time in 2011, for a one-month stand-in for the then Novice Master, Fr. Vallerio of the blessed memory, who was out of the Country. 


In 2012, he was officially transferred to Nigeria as the Delegate Superior and Post Novice Master.

He was the Post Novice Master of most of the Nigerian pioneer religious and priests.


In 2021, at my ordination with my classmates, instead of being with us at the ordination mass, he was in the hospital battling with his life due to severe health challenges but he miraculously got better. 


After he recovers from his sickness, he continues to work until his last breath. His last assignment was Novice Master of the recently newly professed Religious on 14th September 2023, which was his 83rd birthday.


Recently, He travelled to Spain for a checkup during which he collapsed and was placed on full oxygen as his saturation was getting low. 


So, yesterday afternoon, God called him back home.


May the soul of Fr. Riccardo and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

IF JESUS WAS BAD, CAN YOU FOLLOW HIM?

Matthew 22: 15-21 TOPIC FOR REFLECTION  *IF JESUS WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE, WILL YOU FOLLOW HIM?*  Today is mission Sunday, and for anyone to live a fulfilled missionary life, such ought to be a responsible person. No one can survive on a mission land if he lacks good character. I hope you know that Jesus' good character attracted us to follow Him in His mission. Luke 12: 1-7 TOPIC FOR REFLECTION  *TRUST GOD, BUT AVOID HYPOCRISY*  Jesus said, "Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees – that is, their hypocrisy".  It simply means if you know anybody with the under-listed attributes, please in your interest and for the sake of your future, avoid them. If you can't avoid them, learn to manage them. Do not keep such persons as friends, unless you want to ruin your future. So, avoid: 1. The people who are not real, fake by nature. 2. Those who teach the wrong doctrine 3. Those who blackmail and slander people. Note: Be aware that those who gossip to you about others have already massacred you to other people before coming to you.
