TOPIC FOR REFLECTION

 *WISDOM AND FOOLISHNESS*

Jesus is the fullness of Wisdom, the Wisdom of God, while Satan is the fullness of Foolishness.

A person who seeks Wisdom seeks Jesus, directly or indirectly, while those who do not seek wisdom settle for foolishness.

Wisdom is universal, while foolishness is particular

Wisdom is attractive, while foolishness is repelling.

Wisdom seeks unity, while foolishness seeks division

Wisdom is progressive, while foolishness is regressive.

Wisdom is fruitful, while foolishness is fruitless, useless, and futile.

Wisdom is the fullness of humility, while foolishness is the fullness of pride

Wisdom is simple, while foolishness is complex

Wisdom is openness to receive more, while foolishness is closeness not to learn more

Wisdom has a future, while foolishness has no future.

Wisdom aims high, while foolishness remains stagnant.

Wisdom is obedient, while foolishness is disobedient.

The concept of wisdom surfaced in today's Gospel when Jesus ordered Peter to cast His net into the water to catch fish. However, he was already exhausted after toiling all day long and not catching any fish.

Peter who is an expert Fisher man would ordinarily not listen to Jesus who in the ordinary human sense is not an expert in fishing, and to make it worse, he is a carpenter.

Ordinarily, if Peter had not listened to Him, he might have been justified; but Peter looked beyond all those human factors, and obeyed Him.

The obedience of Peter is Wisdom. If it is a foolish person, he would consider the human factor and continue to prove to be an expert in his profession and would not want any non-professional person to tell him what to do.

Finally, the obedience of Peter won him a divine mandate which Jesus conferred on him, and from catching fish to catching of men.

I plead with us, let us be close to Jesus, to be obedient to His words, and to gain wisdom from the WISDOM himself.

Still, God in His Wisdom delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

My dear, please choose wisdom, because it brought salvation to us, but you should avoid being foolish because it only brings destruction.

Choose wisely.
