TOPIC FOR REFLECTION

*GOD CALLED US TO BE HOLY.*

My dear brothers and sisters, do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.

St. Paul in today's first reading encourages us thus: Brethren, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. See to it that no one makes prey of you by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the universe, and not according to Christ. For in him, the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have come to fullness of life in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

Similarly, some have been washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God for His kingdom

So, Jesus in today's Gospel called and selected the twelve disciples. He called them for a purpose and that same purpose they all fulfilled at one time or another.

It will be good to know that the will of God is for us to understand His purpose of calling one which is to serve Him in the capacity one is presently, and in preparation for the future.

Similarly, prayer is supposed to be the central organizing principle of our lives.

We should be aware that as God's disciples, we ought to communicate with Him regularly to gain more grace and strength of faithfulness.

Imagine Jesus going to the mountain to know the will of His Father in prayer concerning whom he should select as His apostles.

My dear, how often do we communicate with God in prayer?

Please, let us always add God to all our plans in life, Remember that if we put all our plans in God's hand, we shall see God's hand in everything. Hence, it will aid us in becoming holy.

Let us imitate Jesus in seeking God's Mind and approval through prayer and good work

Furthermore, as God has called us, let us try to live a good moral life, a life full of wisdom.

It is only a life full of divine wisdom that can win souls for God.

Living a good and morally upright life among the people of the world is like Christ's presence in the world.

 *Peace ✌️ be you.*
