Weekday of Lent (2)

First Reading. Gen. 37: 3-4.12-13a.17b-28
Psalm. 105: 15-21 (R. 5a)
Gospel. Matthew 21: 33-43, 45-46

TOPIC FOR REFLECTION

IF YOU ATTACK ANYBODY, YOU ATTACK GOD.

I encourage you to RISE FROM YOUR SLUMBER.

The first reading is about Joseph the dreamer, God gave him the great gift of seeing the future which he innocently shared with his beloved biological brothers, yet they betrayed his trust and loyalty to them.
My dear, please do not be jealous or envy anybody, if you do; pain, sorrow, and regret await one.
As we shall see that the Joseph they sold into slavery today shall become their "king" and not even in their land, but in a strange land. The dream he had shall come to pass and all his brothers shall bow before him.

My dear, I will beg you again never to look down on anybody or out of jealousy to witch-hunt anybody. It must bounce back at you, and be content with who and what you are.

In the Gospel, Jesus made it clear how these wicked generations were killing all the prophets sent to them. The King even sent his son, and he was killed.
So, the son of the king they kill is a figurative representation of Jesus.
The king is God, while the Son is Jesus.
Therefore, Jesus said that the STONES WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED HAS BECOME THE CORNERSTONE.

Hmmm, Jesus was rejected by many, and today He is above all humans sitting at the throne of judgment

Please, I beg of you never to fight or destroy anybody, because we are the image of God, which means if you kill anybody, you kill God.

Any form of attack on any person especially if he is innocent is an attack on God. If one should attack God, the God who will judge him or her, is it not an irony of the highest order?

Never look down on anybody, the person you maltreat today may be your savior tomorrow.

However, always remember that we are all human, an attack on any person is an attack on the church who accommodates both saints and sinners directly or indirectly respectfully. Hence, an attack on the Church is an attack on the mystical body of Christ, an attack on the mystical body of Christ is an attack on the second person of the Blessed Trinity, and of cause, it's an attack on God.

Therefore, Jesus said, "I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it.”

So, if you do not want the kingdom of God to be taken from you, do not attack one another, rather let us continue to pray for one another, and never look down on anybody.

Who knows tomorrow, the person whom you despise may become the cornerstone of your life. So, treat one another good for the sake of God and our tomorrow.

Peace ✌️ be with you.

Rev. Fr. Segun Oladeji, CRS.
