TOPIC FOR REFLECTION
*THE TRUTH IS BITTER: THINK BEFORE YOU PROMISE.*
Lust made Herod make a promise he could not keep. Marrying his brother's wife made him kill the person whom he loves to listen to regularly.
My dear, please, let us not allow lust to lead us into sin. Not to allow lust to make us hate our best friend(s).
For many people, today, the lust they either had for a boy or a girl, not only made them hate their friends alone, but also their friends.
We can now see that true love unites, while lust divides.
In today's Gospel, the Truth kept Herod uncomfortable and jailed John the Baptist who told him the truth. Still, he went ahead to behead him when the promise he made out of emotion was used to trap him.
Let us consider separately TRUTH and PROMISE.
THE TRUTH
It is natural for people whose TRUTH kept them uncomfortable to react negatively.
TRUTH CAN NEITHER BE KILLED NOR DESTROYED, BUT CAN ONLY BE DENIED OR SUPPRESSED.
STILL, TRUTH LIVES FOREVER.
***Truth is the watch ward of a good person, while it is not for a bad person.
***Truth is a two edge sword, it pierces the heart.
***A good morally conscious person would always be happy and eager to hear the truth, while a bad morally conscious person would never be eager to hear the truth.
***Bad people react to the truth (word of God) and the truth carrier (the preacher: the priests, pastors, prophets), while good people cherish the truth as it comes.
***Truth refines a good person, while it reproves a bad person.
My dear, Value Truth and Truth will keep and set you free.
THE PROMISE
A promise made out of anger is hardly kept, while promises made when one is extremely happy, do choke or push one into a tight corner.
It means, that when you are angry, don't make a promise, you may regret it.
When you are happy, do make a promise, you may not be able to fulfil it.
***Please, do not make promises out of emotion
*** Think twice before you make any promise.
*** Do not make a promise to impress people, these people will leave and you will be left to fulfil it.
*** Try to be in the right state of mind before you promise.
*** Think deeply before you promise, and do not let your promise tie both your two hands and legs.
Imagine how Herod's hands and legs were tied, and this made him commit the sin of murder.
My dear, summarily, in reacting to the truth, watch your
not to make empty promises that you may not be able to fulfil.
*Peace ✌️ be with you.*
