CROSS-EXAMINE YOUR LIFE
I will suggest, you do not rush to read today's reflection, take your time, relax and ponder on the following suggested steps to help in re-examining yourself.
My dear, based on today's Gospel reading of a man who found a treasure in a land, and sold all he has in other to purchase it.
Here are some questions for us to cross-check if truly our treasure is God or the world.
1. What do you like most in life as a person?
2. Can what you like move you close to God or take you away from God? Is it perishable or imperishable?
3. What you like, does it benefits you alone or others benefits from it too?
4. What is your interest in what you like?
5. Does it add value to your life and that of others?
6. What you like, is gratification the endpoint, or satisfaction?
7. As a matter of fact, you sacrifice to acquire what you like, and can what you like sustain you beyond this world?
8. Can what you like build treasure for you in heaven?
9. Can you be proud of what you like, which of cause is your treasure, before God?
10. Finally, can God be proud of you because of what you treasure?
The truth is that what we treasure influences our behaviour if one is not cautious. Kindly consider the following, as a buttress to my assertion.
1. How come some poor people are often humble, and if they become rich, their character and attitudes change immediately?
2. How come some persons who have not assumed power are often gentle, but once power is given to such persons, they become arrogant and proud? etc.
These are some of the many ways out of many, to know those whose treasures are in the world, and not in God
However, do not allow what you treasure to destroy you, rather let it uplift you to see God at the end of time.
Peace ✌️ be with you.
