TOPIC FOR REFLECTION
THE THEOLOGY OF THE EMPTY TOMB
Jesus conquered death.
The tomb where He laid was empty when Mary Magdalene got to the tomb.
Death could not hold Him down
This symbolizes that Jesus has power over life and death.
If you wish to understand fully the meaning of the empty tomb, read this bible passage. 1 Corinthians 15
St. Paul wrote extensively about the resurrection...
*** 1 Cor. 15: 1-14 is about the resurrection of Christ.
*** 1 Cor. 15: 12-58 is about the resurrection of the body
Please, I beg you to find time to read it.
It will clear your doubt about the Resurrection.
Quoting verse 54 alone, it says...
"When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
Therefore, if you truly read this bible passage, the following may be the lesson drawn from the empty tomb.
1. Freedom from sin and death.
2. The tomb becomes empty because sin and death are powerless
3. Our soul shall rise from our perishable physical body to Heaven.
4. If the tomb had not been empty, our faith would have been a mere social gathering without any iota of spiritual tone.
5. The empty tomb shows the vanity of this earth and the richness of heaven.
6. To care for the soul more than the body.
7. Life and death belong to God.
8. The empty tomb shows that the earth belongs to no one and that we all belong to God.
My dear, we could go on listing the lessons, but I will emphasize and beg us to find time to read the bible passage quoted above. The mystery of the resurrection will be clear to you.
Peace ✌️ be with you.
